早前 LG 在 Facebook 表示，不會為 LG Optimus 2X 提供 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 升級。現在改口，表示現在仍未有Optimus 2X升級Ice Cream Sandwich的最終決定。
之前 LG 在 Facebook 回覆查問時表示不會升級，寫著：
We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates to LG Optimus 2X P990.
被坊間輿論群插後，最近LG 向外國網站 Androidandme 表示現在仍測試Ice Cream Sandwich 在 Optimus 2X 的情況，未有升級的最終決定。
LG is still testing Ice Cream Sandwich on those two devices, and the ultimate decision on whether or not these devices will see the update will depend not only on the devices’ ability to handle ICS, but also whether or not the user experience with ICS on these devices will be a good one.
坎坷成長
雖說 Optimus 2X 是部雙核旗艦機，但它的成長真是坎坷。推出時是 Android 2.2，到了現在還是運行 Android 2.2，未有 2.3 升級。但市面上新推白色的 Optimus 2X 郤是運行 Android 2.3。
跟著 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 推出，表示沒有升級。現在又說仍在研究中。
