據了解，CyanogenMod 7.2 Stable Release 亦會快將推出。
另外，很多 CM7 的用家都會有一個問題，之後 CM7 會何去何從？ CyanogenMod 之前在 Blog 內講述了 CyanogenMod 7 的長遠方向。
隨著 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 出現，CyanogenMod 9 亦已經全速開發。但部份手機裝置並不能升級上 ICS，亦不可刷上 CyanogenMod 9，只可繼續使用 CyanogenMod 7.2。
7.x 分支會繼續
CyanogenMod 團隊明確表示，在 CM7.2 發佈之後，7.x 的分支會保持開放繼續開發，並提供予用家使用。
The 7.x branch of CyanogenMod will stay open, available, and active beyond 7.2. We may switch to a more weekly drop of the infamous nightlies at some point, but they will continue as well.
