Skype 推出了新版本 v4.7，今次最主要就是大幅改善用電情況 (aggressive battery savings)。Skype 一直都在改善 App 的用電情況，現在終於有一個階段性成果，而改進工作仍會繼續。
暫停 Group Chat 即時通知
在新版本下，Skype 會暫停接收 Group Chat 訊息的即時通知，在將來的版本會再次開啟這個功能。若果用家仍想接收 Group Chat 通知，可以在 “設定 > 通知” 選擇在背景同步群組訊息。
避過 KitKat “mm-qcamera-daemon” Bug
早前 Google 確認在 Android 4.4 KitKat 有一個相機 Bug，會導致 mm-qcamera-daemon 持續扯高 CPU 用量而導致大幅耗電。Google 當中提到 Skype 會在背景程序存取相機功能，因而觸發了這個 Bug。Skype v4.7 亦添加了一個折衷方法，避免觸發 這個 KitKat “mm-qcamera-daemon” Bug。
另外亦修正在平板進行語音和視像通話的問題。

– Fix for audio and video calling on tablets that do not have Bluetooth.
– Now lists your Windows Live Messenger contacts in the Skype (default) view, not just the All contacts view.
