Google 早前放出了五月份的 Security Update，不過已 Root 機的 Pixel 和 Pixel XL 用家就遇到問題。當安裝了五月份的 Security Update 後，原先已 Root 機的 Pixel 和 Pixel XL 裝置就會失去 Root 權限。
SuperSU 開發者 Chainfire 已知悉這個情況，並找到當中的原因。在五月份 Securtiy Update 內的 Bootloader 不會容許刷上沒有 Signed 簽章的 Boot Images，若透過 SuperSU Root 機就要 Flash Bootloader，所以就出問題了。
From the May 2017 release onwards, the boot images must be signed if flashed (booted works without), but may be signed with your own key rather than the OEM’s
Chainfire 當然也有提供解決辦法。Google 是採用 Android Verified Boot 去辨証 Boot Image 是否已 Signed，所以用家可以透過自己的 Signing Keys 去 sign boot image。Chainfire 在 XDA 貼出了有關的步驟和做法，各位用 Pixel/Pixel XL 又想 Root 機的可以參考一下。
