Google 在之前的 Google I/O 上公佈了 Google Play Protect 服務。這項服務是內置於 Google Play Services 主要是掃描裝置內所安裝的 Apps，以防範可疑 App 有不正當的行為操作。
這個 Google Play Protect 不單只在系統內出現，還會在包裝盒上出現。Google 最新透露，若果手機裝置通過 Google 認證的話，包裝盒上就會有 Google Play Protect 的標誌作識別。
Certified devices also come with Google Play Protect out-of-the-box, providing users with a suite of security features that include automatic device scanning for malware. This provides baseline protection against malware, privacy hacks and more.
市面上 Android 裝置可簡單分為兩類，一類是預載有 Google Apps 包括 Google Play 服務等並通過了 Google 認證，另一類就只有 Android 系統沒有 Google Apps 的。有了 Google Play Protect 的標誌，消費就更容易作出分別。
當然一般大品牌 Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony 這些公司的 Android 裝置，都會預載 Google Play 服務。但一些細品牌，這個 Play Protect 標誌就更易識別。
