四年前的今日，Google 跟 33家公司合作組成開放手機聯盟（Open Handset Alliance），聯盟就是讓業界參與訂定手機平台的發展，那一天 Android OS 亦正式發佈。
“This partnership will help unleash the potential of mobile technology for billions of users around the world. A fresh approach to fostering innovation in the mobile industry will help shape a new computing environment that will change the way people access and share information in the future,” said Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt.
Android 四歲了
時至今日，Android 已經四歲了，而手機聯盟亦已經增長至 84間公司參與，包括有手機廠商，晶片廠商，軟體開發商，電信網絡商等。Android 四年來亦推出了很多的版本，由 1.5 的 Cupcake, 1.6 Donut, 2.0/2.1 Eclair, 2.2 Froyo, 2.3 Gingerbread, 3.0 Honeycomb, 到最新的 4.0 Honeycomb。
Google 自家手機亦推出了 Nexus One, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus。
