Samsung Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab (最早期推出的 7吋那一部)升級 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 的消息，真是如過山車般，時有時無，由最初的沒有, 再考慮, Value Pack 至最新的是 “沒有升級”。
在聖誕節前，Samsung 在官方網站上明確表示不會為 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 提供 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 的升級。數天後，韓國的新聞消息指 Samsung 會再作考慮。再過一天，有說 Samsung 會提供 Value Pack 代替升級。
最新的發展是，有 Samsung 發言人向外國網站 The Next Web 表示，不會為 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 提供升級。這是由於 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 的硬件規格所限。
However, a Samsung spokesperson has said that the company will not offer the update due to the hardware specifications of the older Galaxy devices, in that they are limited to and fully optimised for the Gingerbread experience.
截至現時為止，Samsung 唯一在官方渠道就只有最初的講法，”沒有升級”。希望 Samsung 快些出來說個清清楚楚，Value Pack 是有還是沒有，實在太多太多流傳了。
