一般來說，Android 手機裝置一般會有 18個月的更新，即是廠商會在手機推出後的18個月內提供系統軟件升級，18個月後就不再支援。
不過，美國 HTC 團隊在 Reddit 表示，HTC 的旗艦機將會有兩年的 Android 系統更新。

他們表示，早前公佈 One X 和 One X+ 不會再有更新後引來迴響，令他們重新審視有關的升級政策。他們表示 One X 和 One X+ 採用 NVIDIA 處理器，但 NVIDIA 對晶片的後續支援令他們不能提供升級。
we recently announced that we wouldn’t be updating the HTC One X and One X+ beyond Android 4.2. Without the support of our chip manufacturer Nvidia, it made a global update of One X and X+ devices impossible.
在為美國發售的 HTC One X (使用 Qualcomm 處理器)，但若只為部份 One X 提供更新，但又不為 One X+ 提供更新，可能為用家帶來混亂 (One X+ 是較後期推出的)。他們亦聽到用家的迴響，所以他們正研究在為美國發售的 HTC One X (使用 Qualcomm 處理器) 提供 Android 4.4 KitKat 升級的可能性。
However, in US the One X uses the Qualcomm chip and an upgrade would be possible, but we didn’t think it would be a good experience for our customer base to update the X, but not the X+.
