Google 公佈為旗下的 Nexus 裝置推出一個新的更新政策。簡單而言，裝置推出後兩年內都會獲得主要的 OTA 更新，而在三年內亦會獲得安全修正，又或從 Google Store 下架起計 18個月 (以較長一個為準)。
Nexus devices will continue to receive major updates for at least two years and security patches for the longer of three years from initial availability or 18 months from last sale of the device via the Google Store.
OTA 更新部份其實就如過往的說法，裝置推出兩年內也會獲得主要的系統更新。至於三年安全修正部份，就是 Google 新推出的政策。
Google 會為旗下的 Nexus 手機和平板按月推出安全修正 Stagefright Patch。今早推出的 LMY48I 也就是 Google 推出的第一個 Stagefright Patch，往後每月也會定時收到以安全為主的 OTA 更新。
