Google Keyboard 5.1 之前已經在 Android N Developer Preview 版本內出現，當時已有 APK 檔案抽出可使用。現在 Google 正式推出 Google Keyboard 5.1，可以在 Play Store 下載。
一如 Developer Preview 的版本，Google Keyboard 支援 Theme 主題功能，可以將 Keyboard App 設定成不同顏色主題，也可以選取相片設成為 Keyboard 背景圖片。
除了主題外，Google Keyboard 5.1 亦支援 Unicode 9 emoji，不過只限於 Android N 版本。
Google Keyboard 5.1 已經開始在 Play Store 推出，應陸續會收到更新。
