經過延遲和一輪 Developer Preview 版本後，Google 公佈 Android Wear 2.0 正式推出。Android Wear 2.0 有很多改動和更新，包括支援 Android Pay。
Android Wear 2.0 提供更多資訊性的 Watch Faces，用家可以自訂表面資訊和操作，可以方便檢查行事曆事項, 股票資訊, 運動目標等，點按表面亦有不同的操作。
You can now personalize your Android Wear always-on watch face with information and actions from your favorite apps.
Android Wear 2.0 支援在手表從 “on-watch” Google Play Store 安裝 App。若手表具有話音連線，更可直接撥打電話。用家在手表回覆訊息亦較過往方便快捷，可以打開通知並進行回覆，亦可利用 Smart Reply 更快速回應。
Google Assistant 助理
Android Wear 2.0 具有 Google Assistant 功能，可以讀出 “OK Google” 進行語音指令操作，例如查詢天氣, 預訂餐廳等。Google Assistant 現在只支援英文和德文，未來數個月會支援更多語言。

Google 亦透露可獲得 Android Wear 2.0 升級的手表。
