Samsung 機一直設有自家的 Music Player App，不過情況陸續改變。自 Galaxy S7 起，Samsung 自家的 Music App 已不再是預設的 Player App，反而是 Google Play Music 才是預設的 Player App。最新 Samsung 跟 Google 就正式發出新聞稿，Galaxy S8 和 S8+ 以及之後推出的新機都會採用 Google Play Music 作為 Music Player App。
Starting today with the launch of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, Google Play Music will be the default music player and music service on new Samsung phones and tablets globally. We’re also collaborating with Samsung to create special features in Google Play Music just for Samsung customers.
新聞稿亦提到 Samsung 跟 Google Play Music 合作，Samsung 新機用家亦會有額外著數，可以上載多達 100,000 首歌曲至 Google Play Music 儲存，較一般 Google Play Music 用家多一倍。
