抗疫期間很多人都會留在家中，視像會議成為重要的溝通渠道，工作上跟同事開會, 老師遙距教學等都會用到視像會議。Google 表示旗下視像會議服務 Google Meet 將會免費開放予大眾使用。
Today, we’re making Google Meet, our premium video conferencing product, free for everyone, with availability rolling out over the coming weeks.
Google Meet 一向以來都是付費的 G Suite 產品之一，只限予 G Suite 用家使用。現在就會開放予所有 Google Account 用家免費使用。免費服務將會在未來數星期內陸續推出，用家只要在網頁前往 meet.google.com 又或透過 Google Meet Apps 就可以使用。免費版本的視像會議會有 60分鐘時間限制，但 Google 已表明在 9月30日前不會執行此規限，即是現在可以開長過 60分鐘的視像會議。
Until now, Meet has only been available as part of G Suite, our collaboration and productivity solution for businesses, organizations and schools. Going forward, Meet will be available to anyone for free on the web at meet.google.com and via mobile apps for iOS or Android. And if you use Gmail or Google Calendar, you’ll be able to easily start or join from there, too.
在此簡單介紹一下 Google Meet 視像會議的功能。Google Meet 視像會議可以讓過百人一同參與開會，用家可以使用電腦網頁版又或 iOS 或 Android Apps 參與。用家除了可以使用鏡頭顯示，亦可以分享螢幕畫面，向會議展示投影片內容或其他文件。Google Meet 傳輸數據都會經過加密，以確保資料安全。下面還有 Google Meet Apps 的 Play Store 下載連結。
