Samsung Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab (最早期推出的 7吋那一部)升级 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 的消息，真是如过山车般，时有时无，由最初的没有, 再考虑, Value Pack 至最新的是 “没有升级”。
在圣诞节前，Samsung 在官方网站上明确表示不会为 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 提供 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 的升级。数天后，韩国的新闻消息指 Samsung 会再作考虑。再过一天，有说 Samsung 会提供 Value Pack 代替升级。
最新的发展是，有 Samsung 发言人向外国网站 The Next Web 表示，不会为 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 提供升级。这是由于 Galaxy S 和 Galaxy Tab 的硬件规格所限。
However, a Samsung spokesperson has said that the company will not offer the update due to the hardware specifications of the older Galaxy devices, in that they are limited to and fully optimised for the Gingerbread experience.
