Sony Mobile 就发了一个声明，指这个改动旨在阐释在日常使用中最好的方法去保护手机装置。(illustrate the best ways to protect devices in day-to-day usage)。
声明指出，防水防尘的手机装置都经由独立机构依据 Ingress Protection (IP) 进行测试。Sony Mobile 对于 Xperia 装置的质素满有信心，它们都符合不同的技术标准。
而最近关于修改防水使用指引，旨在表达在日常使用中最好的方法去保护手机装置。Sony Mobile 希望可以清楚表达 Ingress Protection 的准则，使用家理解并可保护他们的装置。Sony Mobile 亦因此更新有关的宣传品。而保养方面，Sony Mobile 表示产品的保养条款依旧不变。

We have also recently updated our marketing visuals to better advocate sensible usage of our devices. The warranty terms provided for our products remain the same and any customer concerns will continue to be considered on a case by case basis in line with these terms.
