Google Keyboard 5.1 之前已经在 Android N Developer Preview 版本内出现，当时已有 APK 档案抽出可使用。现在 Google 正式推出 Google Keyboard 5.1，可以在 Play Store 下载。
一如 Developer Preview 的版本，Google Keyboard 支援 Theme 主题功能，可以将 Keyboard App 设定成不同颜色主题，也可以选取相片设成为 Keyboard 背景图片。
除了主题外，Google Keyboard 5.1 亦支援 Unicode 9 emoji，不过只限于 Android N 版本。
Google Keyboard 5.1 已经开始在 Play Store 推出，应陆续会收到更新。
