Google Play Movies & TV 上年已推出了 4K UHD 画质选择，较之前只提供 HD 和 SD 质素提升了不少。最新亦开始支援 HDR Playback。
HDR 即是 High Dynamic Range，HDR 可以让影像画面的宽容度提高，无论在光暗和色彩上都更细致更清晰，例如在光白的天空位置不会全白，在暗黑环境下亦不会全黑，也会看到当中的细节部份。现在 Play Store 上部份 4K UHD 影片也兼容 HDR Playback，只要用家的电视装置支援就可以有 HDR Playback 播放。
不过，HDR Playback 现在只于美国和加拿大推出，其他地区还未提供。
HDR allows for images with a wider range of brightness and color. You will automatically receive HDR quality if both the 4K UHD title you have purchased and your TV support HDR.
