Google 一向都表明旗下的 Nexus 和 Pixel 都会有两年的系统升级支援，最新 Sony Mobile 亦公布了 Android 升级政策，亦有相类似安排。
Sony Mobile 所有 Premium 装置将会有两年的 Android 系统更新支援，由装置推出日起计算。至于中阶和入门装置，若测试若未能符合 Sony 订定的标准，又或硬件未能向用户提供稳定的体验，Sony 就不会提供更新。
We aim to support all premium range devices with the latest Android updates for two years after the device has launched. We may choose not to upgrade a mid-range or entry-level device if testing does not meet our exacting standards and we feel the hardware isn’t capable of delivering a stable user experience.
简单而言，旗舰机和高阶机就有两年更新，而中阶和入门机就不设任何更新保证。对用家来说，这个做法都较之前明确一点，但那些才算是 Premium 装置呢？
至于安全更新 Security Update，Sony Mobile 就简略表示 Security Update 会向全部 Premium 装置以及部份中阶装置提供，时间和推送过程会因应不同网络商有所不同。

至于早前涉及 CPU 问题的 Meltdown 和 Spectre 安全问题，Sony Mobile 亦表示会透过 Security Patch 2018-01-05 向下列装置提供
