在 Android 系统上，Google 都会每月推出安全更新 (Security Update)，以修正一些安全漏洞和保安问题，旗下的 Nexus 和 Pixel 随即都会收到更新。
但其他厂商的装置，就往往有延迟。除了极少部份行 Stock Android 的装置可以紧贴收到安全更新，但其他厂商往往滞后，延迟一个月甚至两三个月才推送安全更新。因为这全是厂商的决定，没有任何规范或条款要求厂商推送安全更新。
成为 OEM 条款
最新在 Google I/O 2018，Android Platform Security 主管 David Kleidermacher 表示，他们已将安全更新的更求，加在跟厂商的 OEM 协议条款中，安全更新可望更快更普及推送至用家装置。
We’ve also worked on building security patching into our OEM agreement. Now this will really lead to a massive increase in the number of devices, and users, receiving regular security patches.
虽然未有透露条款详情，但当中提到安全更新会更 “Regular”。Google 一直致力改善 Android 系统的更新问题，以减少版本碎片化的情况，例如 Project Treble 就可以让 Android 系统架构更容易更新。
