Android 系统内置的屏幕截图功能，只可以简单将画面制成截图，但若果画面本身很长 (例如一些长长的网页)，附有 scrollbar 可卷动的话，用家就要人手分段截图，截图卷动页面再截图，十分麻烦。部份厂商就提供 Scrolling Screenshot 功能，截图时可以自行卷动将整个画面放在一张截图内，十分方便。
之前曾有消息指，Google 打算在 Android 11 推出 Scrolling Screenshot 功能，但最新消息是 Android 11 不会有 Scrolling Screenshot。
Google Android 工程团队之前在 Reddit 举行了 AMA 回答问题，当中就提到 Scrolling Screenshot。他们指出正在开发 Scrolling Screenshot 功能，但就不会在 Android 11 推出。他们不想为求快捷而只为一两个 Apps 提供 Scrolling Screenshot。团队希望在 Android 系统内建立一个任何 Apps 都可以应用到的 Scrolling Screenshot 功能，并寻求不同 Window Manager, System UI 团队意见，以建立一个 Scrolling Capture 架构。
