一直以来在 Google Play App 内，设有四大分类 Apps, 游戏, 书藉和电影 (Movies & TV)，但随着 Google TV App 推出，用家既可以在 Play Store 购买影片，也可以在 TV App 内购买，两者有重叠情况。
Google Play 最近就在官方 Help Community 公布，由五月开始 电影 (Movies & TV) 就改在 Google TV App 内提供，用家可以在 TV App 内购买, 租借和观看影片，使用体验亦会跟现有一样，界面上一样会有最新推出影片, 推介, 分类等。至于 Google Play App 就只会提供 Apps, 游戏, 和书藉。
Starting in May 2022, the Google TV app will be your home for buying, renting, and watching movies and shows on your Android mobile device or tablet. On the Google Play app, Movies & TV will no longer be supported.
用家过往在 Google Play App 购买的影片内容会在 Google TV App 提供，而家庭分享计划亦继续适用，在 Google TV App 也可使用 Google Play Credit 和 Play Gift Cards。
